Liquid pool chlorine is 12.5% sodium hypochlorite; both products have the same chemical formulation but different names. Bleach is also the same as sodium hypochlorite. However, regular cleaning bleach is watered down to 4%, a weaker sodium hypochlorite form. How much liquid pool chlorine do you need for your pool? Based on a 10,000-litre pool, stabilised pools use 200ml dosing four times daily, and unstabilised pools use 400ml doses twice daily.
